It all started in 2022 when Alexander Ross, my journalist friend invited me as his plus one for Idles war child gig. After a quick discussion regarding the review he had to write. I randomly turned and said, “should I write the review?” it turns out that teenage years obsessing over Melody Maker and NME had all been absorbed and words quickly filled the page.

I think of each review as my gig diary. Each gig creates a different story, set in a room filled with people expressing themselves and a soundscape that often reflects and feeds into this. Live music exists in moments but often stays with you for a lifetime. Each gig I try to position myself next to whomever is going the most nuts or showing the most emotion and try to tap in. Sometimes that person is me and sometimes I will fly over your head.
